2023 Spring Homeless Campaign

Hand on Heart together with our partners Beta Charitable Trust are planning another mammoth collaborative Spring Campaign by assembling and distributing 2,000 essential packs. HoH will be working alongside 28 organisations in response to the Government’s worrying report which showed a rise in rough sleeping figures for the first time since 2017. This follows Hand on Heart’s successful winter campaign where the charity aided the homeless community, asylum seekers and refugees, by distributing a record 3,465 winter warmer packs during 2022/23. 

The cost of living crisis, soaring inflation and excessive heating bills have all contributed to the 26% rise in rough sleeping, with 125,000 children now finding themselves in temporary accommodation. This means that the current level of rough sleeping in the UK is at its highest in 18 years.  In response, Hand on Heart’s spring campaign will see the distribution of 2,000 high-quality drawstring bags containing spring essentials and 600 shower jackets will be handed out as the charity serve across 30 locations including London, Birmingham, Brighton, Leicester, Manchester and Northampton. 

Each pack will include the following items: Joggers, T-Shirts, Socks, Underwear, Deodorants, Wet Wipes, Shower gel, First Aid plasters, Oral Hygiene kit and Eid Card packed in a quality Drawstring bag.

To coincide with Easter and the month of Ramadhan, HoH will mark the occasions by providing Easter Eggs, Eid treats and an Eid card in each pack with a message of goodwill and hope.

What we need?

Donations: To provide 2000 packs with clean clothes and toiletries to the homeless and in a safe manner.

£20 will go towards one pack. £60 could help 3 rough sleepers, asylum seekers and refugees to have access to clean clothes & hygiene items.

Project Summary

Hand on Heart Spring Campaign for the homeless will involve:

– 2000 Spring Essential Packs for vulnerable groups

– Each pack contains 11 essential items

– 600 Shower jackets

– Assembled by community members including

• 60 Hand on Heart Families
• 3 Schools
• Scouts group
• Childrens Book Club
• Residential Care Home
• Senior Citizens group

– Distributed at 16 Outreach Drives and 16 Local Areas

– Serving in 30 locations in the UK

– Working alongside sidle 28 Charities and organisations

– Accompanied with Easter Eggs, Cupcakes & Eid Cards
