2024 Spring Homeless Campaign

Hand on Heart together with our partners Beta Charitable Trust are planning a collaborative Spring Homeless Campaign by assembling and distributing 1,500 essential packs. HoH will be working alongside organisations in response to the worrying rise in rough sleeping figures since last year. This follows Hand on Heart’s successful winter campaign where the charity aided the homeless community, asylum seekers and refugees, by distributing a record 3,500 winter warmer packs during 2023/24.

Throughout the UK, the cost-of-living crisis continues, and we are witnessing a 20-30% surge in the number of guests at each outreach. The expenses connected to rent, mortgages, and the escalating cost of living are a few of the elements that contribute to homelessness. As a result, individuals are forced to confront the harsh realities of sleeping on the streets, sofa surfing, or desperately seeking refuge in cars, garages, and sheds.

During these challenging times, our main aim is to provide essential items to those in need.

What we need?

Donations: To provide 1500 packs with clean clothes and toiletries to the homeless in a safe manner.
£20 will go towards one pack. £60 could help 3 rough sleepers, asylum seekers and refugees to have access to clean clothes & hygiene items.

Each pack will include the following items:

Polo shirts, T-Shirts, Socks, Underwear, Deodorants, Wet Wipes, Shower gel, Oral Hygiene kit and Eid Card packed in a quality Drawstring bag.

To coincide with Easter and the month of Ramadhan, HoH will mark the occasions by providing Easter Eggs, Eid treats and an Eid card in each pack with a message of goodwill and hope.

Project Summary

• Assembled by community members including
  – 60 Hand on Heart Families
  – Schools
  – Scouts group
  – Residential Care Home
• Distributing at 18 Outreach Drives in the UK
• Working alongside side 15 Charities and organisations
• Accompanied with Easter Eggs, Cupcakes & Eid Cards
